Dryer is a week old and is making a "thumping" noise. Not real loud, but it thumps once with each rotation of the drum.
Sears "AE" was here and pulled the top off to inspect and the drum was rotating slightly unevenly, like it is out of round. He said both the thumping and the rotation were normal. I don't know whether either is normal or not, but I am skeptical because of all the negative comments I've read about AE repair.
Are these conditions normal?
Thanks.

Well, I am trying to be nice about this but the nicest way I can say this is that the Tech was full of it.
Get them back and tell them to fix it so it runs quietly and correctly.

Great, I am glad you pressed your case and got a good result. Their initial response to you was totally unacceptable.
