Whirlpool side by side. Refrigerator doesn't cool but freezer and ice maker work fine. Small amount of cold air flow into frig. Cooling coils have very little frost. No excess frost anywhere. Any ideas?

What are the temps in freezer and refg.
Open refg door close freezer door put your hand by the air damber, do you feel air coming thuough the damper.
Then open freezer door put your hand by the air damber. do you feel a diffnce in the air flow.

Fan appears to be working fine diffuser doors are closed. Removed diffuser and frig cooled to 36F

The freezer control may not have been keeping the flap open
in the diffuser assembly. I believe they just use a metal rod to
adjust it. You need to make sure that when you turn the
freezer temp control that it actually opens and closes the vent flap.

There is a wire and a metal rod going into the diffuser assy. I thought the rod was to the thermostat. If that is the case, does the wire control the diffuser door? Is the diffuser control on this model electrical or mechanical?

Grumps Its mechanical, All the freezer control does is open or close the air flap. They use the rod to connect the control to the flap. You just need to make sure that the freezer control is actually moving the air flap when you operate it. Ive had cases where something on the control knob or the diffuser would be broken keeping the control from actually moving anything when you turn it.

The part that confuses me is the rod is connected to the freezer control and the wire is from the frig temp control.

That's because they only need the electrical control in the frig
to cycle the unit off. Since the air in the frig comes from
the freezer and the frig is only going to cool properly if the
freezer gets down to the right temp anyway then an electrical
control really isn't needed for it.
