When the timer gets to the off position, the buzzer goes off and won't shut off. I thought the buzzer was the only problem but I just realized the only reason the dryer stopped was because I opened the door. The next load I dried, I realized that it went beyond the off position (of the timed cycle) into the "Air Dry" cycle. (Clothes were completely dry by this point.) Short of opening the door, dryer doesn't seem to want to shut off on its own.

Try replacing the push to start switch, it is inexpensive. Here it is. You can get it here or at any appliance parts store. Part number: AP2975301
