[FONT='Times New Roman'][FONT='Times New Roman']The washing machine makes a grinding noise on the wash cycle. All other cycles run without any abnormal noise. Can this be attributed to a faulty transmission? Is there any way to verify this? Is there any other diagnostics you would recommend? [/FONT][/FONT]

Hi

It is very difficult for us to diagnose noises because we are not there to listen. Since it is in the agitate cycle it is like a problem in the transmission.

I would take out the agitator to see if something is stuck there. Remove the top pieces and the screw which holds it down and it lifts up.
