My Frigidaire oven takes at least 45 minutes to reach temp. The glow stick glows and the oven lights. It also cycles on and off, so you would think it is at correct temp. The other day, I was making stuffed shells (frozen). I put them in the oven after a 15 minute wait for preheat. The oven signaled that it had reached temp after they had been in for 40 minutes (a total of 55 minutes from when I turned it on!!). After they had been in the oven for 45 minutes (the recommended time), they were just barely warm. Sometimes, I will light one of the stovetop burners, and that seems to speed things up, but it doesn't always work. What do you think the problem is?

You would need to gain access to the burner so that you can see how its working while the oven burner is on. Not exactly sure how you gain access on this particular model, but it would either be a case of removing the bottom floor cover inside of the oven or you have to remover the storage drawer. You then would need to observe the flame. First, does it stay on until the thermostat clicks off? Second, how does the flame look? The burner should put out enough flame from each side to where it can travel up a good portion of the distance of the metal flame spreader that sits on top of it.

Flame looks okay to me. It takes 2-3 minutes once the glow bar comes on for the flames. Then they stay on about 3 minutes and go out for a few minutes, then glow bar starts to glow again, another 2-3 minutes for flames. This goes on and on.

The next thing that needs to be established is when it goes off, whether its because the range control itself is actually turning the burner off, or if the range control is actually trying to keep the burner turned on and the burner simply wont stay lit. When the burner shuts down is it accompanied by a "click sound" coming from the clock/control area?

off to the unit for about an hour and see if this makes any difference. Okay, left unplugged for a few hours. It seems to be lighting quicker, just a minute or so after the glow stick comes on. Still cycling on and off every minute or two. Is this normal? I really don't know how it worked when it did work! It did beep after the 2nd time it shut down, signaling that it was preheated. I wish I had an oven thermometer to check it.

The short cycles may very well be a normal part of its preheat programming. I've seen the preheat cycle on some of these electronic ranges do some pretty strange things. Before we go much further some temperature testing is going to need to be done to this oven to see if its coming up to its set temp.

I used the oven tonight and it seems to be fine. (First time in a long time!) I guess it just needed reset. I'll post again if I have any other problems.
