Hello, I have a GE GSH25JFTA WW refrigerator. The refrigerator section works fine, but the freezer gets warm enough to melt the ice. As things melt, water condensates and drips from the wire racks. Then after a little while it refreezes everything again. The ice in the icemaker is then frozen together and there are frozen water droplets hanging from the racks. Seems the defrost cycle is staying on too long. From what I have read in the forum, I’m guessing it is probably the main board. Do you agree? The main board diagram in the parts list looks different from my main board. My main board is a rectangle that runs up and down and occupies the entire main board cavity. The main board diagram in the parts list is more or less square and looks to be only about half the size of the one in my refrigerator. Is that normal? Thanks for your help.

I would get a pro. to look at it, you might have a compressor going sour.

I have a Ge GSH22JFTAA and I'm having the exact problem. Replaced the thermostat def AP 3884317 and this did not fix the problem. Not sure where to go now. I did order a sensor temp AP3185407 but have not installed yet.

I would pull your motherboard out and check for bad solder joints under the power relay. If ok, check your compressor for overheating. If not, and your freezer gets down to near zero degrees, you probably have a bad motherboard, AP4436216

I have pulled off the mother board and all the solder joints look ok. The freezer does get down to zero.It seems as though there are a couple of defrost cycles a day. I have nailed one down to around 8-9 nightly. It seems to get to about 60 in the freezer then it cools down to 0. Would an overheating compressor be regular? If the compressor could be the culprit how to I check for overheating?

If your freezer fan is running during defrost, you have a bad motherboard.

I have checked the fan during defrost and it's not running. There is something else that I have noticed, the gasket on right of the rear panel has been melted and is now rippled. This is down near the heating element. also when I removed the panel in the back of the freezer it seems to have been overheated as it brown behind the unit. Could the unit be getting to hot on defrost and this would be why my ice is melting. Is this normal? If not what could be the culprit?
