If not, then wait 'til it goes into defrost on its own, and see if the defrost heater comes on. (you should know in a matter of seconds, as you'll feel the heat and hear the "sizzle" of melting ice. If no heat, either the heater element is open, or the defrost thermostat is open. Generally, we replace them as a pair.

Generally, we replace them as a pair. how do you force a defrost? i ordered one of those boards that is located in refer light harness. it controls the defrost cycles local refer tech's suggestion. i was told element or term usually dont go bad
