I did not shut my upright freezer door completely & the compressor ran for a long time. After cleaning up the mess, I cannot get the freezer to run. Interior light is on. I tried turning the defrost timer to "click" & waited. Results; nothing happened. Compressor will not come on. Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting & how would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you, Kaye

Did it try to start or it's completely dead?
Did it make any noises?

Unfortunately, Gene, it is like road-kill dead. After I reset the defrost timer,"click", it makes no sounds at all. No attempts to start, no hums, no nothing. Appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Thank-you, Kaye

Are you sure the defrost timer is in the cooling mode and the cold control is "on"?
Sounds like there is no power to the compressor.

Thanks. Cold control is "on' , set at 5. I turn the defrost timer until it "clicks" ;wait 1 hour, nothing. I turn the defrost timer to "click"; wait until the next morning; again nothing. Does the defrost timer control the power to the compressor?

Remove the cold control and short the wires to see if it will run and post results.

Removed cover of cold control and VOILA !!! The red wire had separated from the connector. Replaced a 25 cent connector and firmly crimped the wire. Reconnected and everything is working fine. Thanks for the advice & guidance. :) If you live in the State College, PA or Orange Cty., California area, I would highly recommend richappy or Gene for any of your appliance repair needs. Thanks again guys. You are the greatest!!! Kaye
