Buy them both because usually if the relay were bad it wouldn’t work at all but I could be the problem and the overloads usually don’t give much trouble.

There is a possibility the compressor is overheating and if this doesn’t work I think that is the case. You already checked to see if the coils under the refrigerator were clean and the fan was running right?

If this doesn’t work you could look into other things that may cut the compressor off but the reason I think the problem is here is because you have messed with the wires two times now to make the compressor start running.

To answer you last question the overload must go on first then the relay.

Oh that model doesn’t have a main board so now I know what we are dealing with.

Got the overload in yesterday, the relay was back ordered, but it starts fine , actually I have not been around to even know if the compresor has shut off at all,,,,,, seems to be no ice forming on back , but still after 24 hres the freezer is at around 40 degrees, the fridgside never checked, I figure once the freezer issue is solvedfriidge will be ok..... No ice on coils, still at 40 Degrees, have not heard it cut off,,,, ????????? Also the compressor seems hot........

I re read your last reply about posable compressor over heating , I cut it off for a bit , it seems to run non stop and still never past 40 deg... I am letting it cool down and go at it again.... Should the compressor be hot to the touch????? I turned the darn thing off at the control in the fridge....I guess the bright side at least no more wire jiggling at the overload (the old actualy feel apart almost think someone else has messed around with this fridge..... any way
Thanks Again,

Almost forgot yes , cleaned coils , and fans are running, just hot compressor now and the 40 deg , fans and compressor never seems to stop running, unless I cut it off on temp control in fridge.....

Figured I would give the latest, Last night I ut it off with temp control switch to see if compressor cooling down would make a difference... turned back on around 11;00 pm it started back up..... Around 3 am I noticed it had cut it"s self off with a few drops of water back by the drain.. temp at 38 degrees..
Checked around 5 am ,( it had come back on sometime by it self )around 40 degrees..
Told wife she could use the freezer for the fridge and put cook books for fresh foods in the other side..... I'm sure you have an idea how that went over.....
I will check later in the day, Thanks again, Steve

Sorry I haven’t replied I have been out of town on vacation for a couple days. The more I read your post the more I think you have a refrigeration problem. I kind of though that before but the compressor kept cutting off. If it continues to run and doesn’t get the temperature down it’s going to be a refrigeration problem. Which is bad you would need to call a repairman.
