I tried to move the solenoid slider (ice bucket removed) and it has some SMALL movement but appears "jammed" from moving up. Does not feel like it frozen to to ice (design does not appear to allow ice or water to drip onto it). Do I have to remove the entire assembly to get to the solenoid ? Looks like that is the case.

Inspect all parts in the solenoid assembly. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for FRG GLHS68EESB0 \| AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

I asked Frigidaire for the "service manual" and they told me they don't sell to consumers. The link you sent has excellent exploded views. I guess my question is does the entire ice making assembly have to come out ? Ice bucket (of course), bucket motor assembly and the water / ice unit above it too ? Or use small screwdriver to remove the cover plate of the ice-bucket solenoid ?
