Hello,
My wife used the oven to bake a cake on Friday. After it preheated, she inserted the cake and walked away. 21 minutes (per the oven clock) after inserting the cake she smelled burning from the kitchen. The display still said 350 degrees, but when she opened the oven door, it was extremely hot and the cake and pan were burnt. She took the cake out and as she was putting the burnt cake on the counter, she heard a beep-beep-beep. She looked and it had an error message which quickly disappeared and then the message said cool down-locked....although the door never locked.
The next day, she used the oven again, but stayed near it to see if the problem occured again. The same thing happened. The oven seems to go into the self-clean mode while it still reads the temperature which was originally set. Unfortunately, my the error codes came and went too quickly for her to see what they were. Thanks, Craig Jung

Hi Craig,

Most likely the problem is a bad control board.

- The part number for the control board (white face) is AP2990013

- The part number for the control board (black face) is AP2990015

- The part number for the control board (almond face) is AP2990014

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool range Model GS395LEGQ0

Good luck.
Gene.

Thanks Gene for the info. Since it is a costly part, and before I order the part from you, could there be any other possible cause for this problem. Also, are directions included with the part you mentioned? Thanks Again, Craig

I do not think anything else could cause it.

Let me know when you will get the part and I'll help you with instructions.

Best regards,
Gene.
