It is the orange wire on the bottom white plug. The first you see going from left to right.

Try this only if you get 120V from L to N (orange wire).
You may have already done this if so let me know because I am not sure.
You should see a plug marked J2 unplug it. Check for voltage between pins 3 and 8 on the board. If you get 12VDC there may be a short in the fan circuit. Post what you find.

ok, not sure but my board may be laid out differently or something? i got 120v to purple wire on J7 plug from LINE . i checked every wire going to board & thats the only one that had anything. checked voltage between pins 3 & 8 on J2 , no voltage there. makin any sense yet? i'm lost. thanks again, ant

Check your thermistors on Ji connector, upper right. Check them per my article in sticky above "GsS and HSS refrigerators". You might have a thermistor disconnected, that would shut the fridg. down.

hi again. richappy, i checked the thermistor pins as you described. they all seemed to check out right, i think. (3.8ohms with meter on 20K ohm setting) but pins 5 & 7 are a dead short , as they should be, because the are spliced together. (2 blue wires). thats the reading i got from the J1 plug. i added a pic of the board & labeled the plugs. the board is actually mounted upside-down on the back of the fridge. maybe this will help with my confusion?  thanks again, ant

They have had a lot of problems with the power relay that powers the compressor and defrost. Even though new, you might want to check the solder connections on that relay, it's close to the 4 pin power connector, just follow the ribbons. Every time I have a problem with the board, I have to re-solder these relays.
Also, re-check carefully the thermistors per the temperature/resistance chart, you just might have a problem there.

On the J7 plug the #9 pin (orange wire) is neutral (common) the pin all the way to the left looking straight at the board. You should have 120V from Line to that wire on the plug. If not I believe that is your problem you need to find out why you don’t have the neutral to the board. You may have a loose or broken wire. I know you said you have voltage to the purple wire what pin was that? Refrigerator repair guide

applianceman, not sure if you saw it but if you look @ the pic above, the purple wire is pin #6 on J7 plug. the orange wire didn't have voltage going to it. ant
