I went to defrost the freezer and simply turned the inside nob to off. after the whole process i turned the nob back to the setting of 5 and left it till the next day.i can not get the thing to start freezing again.what am i missing?

If it does not make any noises and not cooling then most likely the problem is a bad temperature control.
