? ...when the compressor is running shouldn't the fan also be running to pull heat away from compressor, or does it work on a thermostat that turns fan on only when temp of compressor gets to hot? if not what might the problem be with the fan as it seems to run sporadically.

The condenser fan motor (next to the compressor) must run together with the compressor. If it does not then check for 120 VAC to the motor. If there is nothing wrong - replace the motor. - The condenser fan motor Part number: AP3120994

I would rate them probably 6.5 out of 10 just because of over computerized. You can see a lot of advertisements about their power and water efficiency. Unfortunately they will never last long enough to let you see it. Gene.

Will this motor work for my Amana side by side model # SCD23VW ? I'm having same problem and possibly others. But the other day I looked and temp in freezer was 10F or more. Gave the fan a push and it started up. The temp then went back down shortly there after. Any help would be greatly appreciated.......
