Recently my Whirlpool LSC9355EQ0 top loader has stopped draining the water before starting the spin cycle, resulting in a very slow spin which I'm sure is straining the motor. I am guessing that the pump is bad and I have found replacement pumps online. Would this be a part that is relatively easy to replace on this model??

Usually the motor will not even run with a jammed pump. I would suspect something stuck in the tub. Just put the drain hose in a bucket on the floor and siphon out the water, then shine a light in there, you will probably see something.

during that time of the wash cycle when the water would normally be pumped out, there is no sound at all, so the motor is not running at that time. then when the timer advances to the spin cycle the motor starts and the tub spins very slowly, increasing speed as water is removed by the spinning action. the timer reaches the end of cycle before all the water is spun out of the tub. I ran the spin cycle again and after reaching what seems to be normal spin speed all the water is gone from the tub.
when you say 'shine a light in there' where exactly did you mean??

Shine a bright light in the spin basket to look for things stuck between the tub and spin baskets. In your case, you need a new timer.AP3018877
