If it does spin but does not drain then remove the washer cabinet and check the drain pump and the drain hoses. If it does not spin as well then check the lid switch. Post the results. Gene.

I'm in the same boat as Sylvester. Fills, agitates, no drain, no spin. The lid switch isn't there, just one screw with a piece of busted plastic on the back of it. I suspect someone else removed and bypassed the switch, and I need now to replace the pump. But maybe the switch found its way to the bottom of the unit....
Oh by the way, this machine has leaked a little water during drain/spin cycles ever since I've had it (about 10 months now....)
My main problem at this minute is how to get into it. This is a "Roper by Whirlpool," model RAS7233KQ0. It's got a U-shaped white-metal body, a top and a back. I assume that U-shaped piece comes off, but whatever the trick is for doing that, I'm not finding it. Anyone got a clue for me?

You can use the same instructions from the previous reply. I would recommend to replace the lid switch as well. - The lid switch Part number: AP3100003

I am having the same issue as far as the not draining goes. I have removed the pump and inspected it and it appears to be sound. It is a little hard to spin with my finger but it does spin. I am curious if the washer has a relay that may be bad. I dont even hear the pump engage when its time to pump. Mind you i am no expert but I am thinking that the motor to the pump is bad or the relay or even the main switch.. Any thoughts?

Does the motor run when it comes to drain/spin cycle? Gene.

I am unable to locate the complete model number, I have checked the reference points to find this information and it's just not there. The machine will not pump out water nor will it start the spin cycle. I can tell you it is a Whirlpool Ultimate care II. I think the washer is about 6 or 7 years old.

Sound like the problem is a bad lid switch.
The model number should be under the lid.
Gene.
