Grasping for straws here. Verify the evaporator motor is turning the fan blade in the right direction, it must cup the air and sling it. Also, check the bottom refrigerator air vent if you have one. Also, you might stick a wire through the vent into the freezer and leave it there.

I have found a "warm air" return directly beneath where the fan 'shoot' resides and in rear of the cold air vent. It was iced up. (it was hard to detect) I obviously did not fully defrost the freezer. That being said, my immediated problem has been resolved...BUT....why wasn't it defrosting? I have come to the conclusion after checking for proper voltages and getting them, and bypassing the circuit board and directly activating the heater and watching it work, that everything seems fine except that nothing is telling the heater to "kick on" and I believe that is the job of the circuit board which makes sense to me. That's and $80 part and worth replacing.
I REALLY, REALLY apprecciate your time and help with this matter!!!!!

I TOTALLY share you experience. I had the SAME problem with a Maytag today, took me a few hours till I found the same problem, blocked air return on the bottom in back of a crisper bin. Good luck with this thing and I feel that I did cover all possabilities with your problem and one was right.
I admire your persistence, a good atribute.

How much food do you have in the freezer? Is it possible that, when you shut the freezer door, you're pushing food into the back, blocking airflow?

With your help not to give up, a new circuit board was the answer for my "no defrosting" freezer. I certainly learned a lot too. Common sense and further research beyond what the eyes could see. The air flow problem had a logical solution - I had to melt it to see it. Thanks again!!
