Dishwasher runs fine, but recently the dispenser stopped opening and releasing the detergent. The release catch is sticking when you try to open it manually. You can push it in, slide the entire detergent holder unit left/right, but the detergent door won't open easily.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

Most likely the detergent dispenser has to be replaced. - The part number for the dispenser assembly is AP2834000 Good luck. Gene.

Thanks, Gene. Got the part. Just want to confirm it should be a simple case of unscrewing the inside of the door to replace it. Any helpful hints to keep the frustration level down? (Other than not losing the screws? LOL!)

Remove six T-20 Torx screws from inner door below fascia pane.
Carefully pull bottom of outer door out from dishwasher until top door tabs clear, then pull door down until it releases from dishwasher. Take care to not scratch outer door.
Remove two plastic door guards. They can fall out when the outer door is removed.
Gene.

Gene, I found the replacement part for my dishwasher is AP3195342. How do I remove the old and replace the new?

Dave,
You have to remove the outer door panel and screws holding the dispenser.

I have the same problem with the SHV66A. Am ordering part AP2834000 but I can't see the six screws you mentioned. My machine seems to have more: three on either side and four along the top edge. Do I remove them all? Just the three on each side?

You have to remove only side screws. I'm not sure how many of them are for your model.

Gene, I got the old dispenser out and the new one in. Also got the wood panel back onto the door. But I must have taken off too many screws. The dishwasher door is no longer attached to the machine at all. It's just hanging by the electrical wires... How do I do this? Does the door slide onto the metal brackets at bottom? They don't look like they'd move forward easily when the door is opened. Is there a picture of what this should look like?

If you can take a pictures of the door and post them - it might help better understand what is going on.
