My oven will not work. The error code is F 10. What would the problem be. Thanks

The "F10" error code means the runaway temperature.

Check the resistance across the oven temperature probe (aka oven temperature sensor) terminals at the EOC (electronic oven control).

It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature.

If the reading is wrong, check the resistance at the oven probe plug.

If the reading is wrong - replace the oven temperature probe.

If the readings right - check the wire harness from the temperature probe to the EOC.

If there is nothing wrong with the oven temperature probe, then replace the EOC. You can use the old overlay or replace it too.

- The part number for the oven temperature probe is AP3704441

- The part number for the EOC is AP3776874

- The part number for the black overlay is AP3778486

Good luck.
Gene.

I just checked this oven and the resistance was about 1040-1050 at the terminal block and the probe. Does that mean the probe was good? All the wiring looks fine. Is the only other thing it could be is the EOC? Thanks so much for your help!!

Yes, in such situation the only thing it could be is the EOC.

Gene,

I have the same F 10 issue going on with my 790.961* model Kenmore electric range with glass cooktop.

My question for you is where these parts you say to test are located in my oven - the manual is less than helpful for locating operating parts.

So, where is "the oven temperature probe (aka oven temperature sensor) terminals at the EOC (electronic oven control)"?

Where is "the oven probe plug" if I have to test that too?

Where is "the wire harness from the temperature probe to the EOC"?

Thank you!
C

cjtyo,

In order to provide most accurate advise we need the complete model number of the range.
