I have recently replaced the belts on the washer belt to tub was dry rotted. Machine was working great now the belts move but the tub doesn't agitate the belts smell like their burning checked to see if they are spinning and they are but the tub isn't washing. When placed in spin cycle it will spin. What am I over looking. Please help, ready to sledge hammer it : ( Thanks........

Without a full model number I can only give you the generic answer which is that if the motor is turning when it is supposed to be agitating something may be jammed in the transmission.
If you need further info, please confirm that the motors is operating when the machine is supposed to be agitating and post a complete model number.
