water not draining before spin cycle. I have bypassed lid switch, no help. The motor shaft that the drain pump fits onto IS NOT turning when the machine should be draining, therefore I don't believe it is the pump. The drain line is not clogged. I'm thinking it is the timer. Is there any way to check it? Any other suggestions? Thanks

Ordered the timer from y'all and machine does the same thing. After it agitates and before it spins, it is suppose to drain most of the water out, correct? Can I return the timer? Any other suggestions?

Yes, you may return the timer. Maybe I'm not understanding your symptoms. In normal cycle, agitation should begin in high speed. Last 6 minutes of agitation should be in low speed. Then motor stops for 25 seconds. Motor then starts again for drain only for about 2 minutes and then stops again for about 15 seconds and then starts again for spin/drain. If when motor starts directly after agitation it drains/spins simultaneously, then the neutral drain mechanism in the gearcase is not functioning properly.

Just my 2 cents but an old drain hose can kink, you won't drain with a kink.

Thanks for the help. The kit looks like it would be over my head and the gearbox is more $ than I want to put into the washer. Guess I'll just live with it.
