Gene, I think I have a similar problem as jjjacek, and from your schematics and graphics the ice makers looks to be a similar model (I don't know where to get the model number).
Our icemaker stopped making ice a few days ago. When I open the freezer door, the red light is blinking. It blinks two fast and then continues to repeat. If I manual hold the left side flip panel closed the red light goes to a steady on.
I took the ice maker out ran my wife's hair dryer over it until it was completely melted and dry. I reinstalled the icemaker. This morning one load of ice was coming up and would have dropped (I pulled the cubes off and used them). But, the ice didn't look like it usually does. The cubes didn't appear to be as big as they normally are. Moreover, the ice bin would have been half full with an overnight run. So, the spindle seems to be rotating extremely and I mean extremely slowly. There must be water coming into the tray, but it may not be a full load, because the ice was not full size. However, since the spindle is rotating so slowly, the air in the freezer may have diminished the size of the cubes.
P.S. I stopped using the filter, based on advice in another forum. We don't have very hard water. We live in the Pacific Northwest.
