My GE side by side refrigerator hasn't been working for a few week! The freezer fan that circulates air through the entire fridge is broken. I had a repair man come by the house to check on it and wanted to charge me $150 to replace it! (Heck no!)
I bought the part online (which only costs me $8) and decided to fix it myself. I have unplugged the refrigerator and did all the necessary steps to fix. However, I pushed the fan too far and now the motor isn't running. I am trying to pull it up so the motor can be straighten out.
Am I on the right path in fixing my refrigerator?

Sounds like you are on the right track to me.
Get the fan blade in the correct location and see if it runs.
If not, check that is is getting 120 volts. If it is and is not running then your $8.00 fan is no good. If there is no voltage or low voltage then your problem is elsewhere. |
