The ice marker stopped working. I replaced the ice marker and then the water control valve. After each part was replaced I would get one batch of ice on start up and then nothing. I then partially covered the vent lines from the freezer with painters tape. It now produces ice just like it was new. It appears the ice maker temperature is too low even though the freeze set at 6F and refrigerator temperature set to 36F. I put wifi thermostats in the main section, ice maker section and freezer. The main section is showing a temperature of 39.7F, the freezer is 3.7F, and ice maker is 3.7F. At these temperatures the water line is freezing. With the vent lines 3/4 covered the temperature in the ice marker is 14.7 and there is no problem making ice. Is there a vent control valve that is not working and needs replacement? Will it hurt to leave the painter tape partially covering the vent lines?
