Microwave trips off (blows fuse) immediately after starting. Checked capacitor (ohms meter istantly pegs out) after touching both poles. Is capacitor bad?

Hi.

Before checking the capacitor you must discharge it.

To properly check the capacitor you need the digital multimeter.

By "blows fuse" do you mean the microwave fuse or the circuit breaker?

Thank you.

Simon.
