When you press bake/ broil, all you here is the control panel click then nothing else. No spark/ glow from ignitor, no gas sound and no heat at all.

I though I had the DSI ignitor, but when I tried to check the continuity of the regulator, I realized I was reading info from a different model oven. My regulator doesn't have any electrical wires going into it.

Are the ignitors bad? or something else? How do you check the ignitor w/ the multimeter?

Safety valve is in the on position.

Thanks.

Remove the oven floor and the flame spreader. Unplug the oven igniter and check it for continuity.

If there is no continuity then the igniter has gone bad.

If there is continuity then check for 120 VAC to the igniter while the control calls for Bake or Broil and post the results.

Thanks for the reply.

I attempted to check continuity on the ignitor. The needle on the multimeter didn't move, so I guess it's bad, but this is my first time using the multimeter, so I may have done something wrong too.

I also attempted to check the voltage, but wasn't sure how to do this. Do I test the plug coming from the valve to the ignitor (while on bake/ broil)? That's what I did, but didn't get any reading at all. Or do I plug the ignitor back up and test somewhere else?

Thanks.

There is always something what we do first time.

The following article on our forum will explain in detail how to run a continuity test using either an analog meter or a digital meter - How To Check Continuity With Ohmmeter

I finally ordered the ignitor Monday morning. Got it today and my oven is working!! Thanks!

I guess I was testing w/ the meter properly. I tested the new one and got a reading immediately. When I pressed bake or broil, the ignitor fired right up! The gas seems to take quite a bit longer to start flowing, but it gets starts coming in about 20-30 seconds.

Thanks again!
