Default GE Dishwasher
Model Number: EDW4000G03WW   Brand: GE   Age: 1 - 5 years

After a power outage, the control panel is blank, and there is a high-pitched sound from the interior of the dishwasher. This is in Seattle. The power outage was from wind, no lightning. The breaker is good; the dishwasher has power.

Verify voltage to the control module and no blown thermal fuse. If ok, probably a blown control module pn AP3203951

I put the breaker back on. I unscrewed the front panel. There is an actuator which connects to the latch. I depressed it. There was a beep, and the control panel "NORMAL" wash light came on. I re-assembled the door. The dishwasher is now operating. The power outage had caused the control module to shut down.
