WTX4800XQ Hangs in Wash Cycle Loop Erratic

Occasionally hangs in wash mode and never completes, or else takes 2 - 3 hours. When it is stuck in wash mode, I see all lights extinguish for a couple of seconds, then lid lock light comes back on and wash light comes back, then it agitates a few minutes, then again all lights go out and the above repeats.

Error Codes point to Lid Switch and Lid Lock problem. Does that sound legit since it passes all automatic test items? The error code only comes back after I’ve attempted another regular wash cycle. Is my lid switch intermittent, thus causing the wash cycle never to complete and move on?

Model is WTW4800, not WTX as title shows. Oops.

As a test, I have defeated the lid switch in order to make the system see the lid as closed all the time. I still have the same results, with the lid lock light and wash light going out, then 10 seconds later they come back on and the agitator runs a minute or so, then repeat the above. Is the control board defective?
