Since the user interface is not responding, let’s try a few steps to see if we can get it working.

  1. Unplug the refrigerator’s power cord for 5 minutes.

  2. Plug it back in and check whether the user interface will accept any input.

Whether it responds or not, press and hold the Freezer Temp (+) and Freezer Temp (-) buttons together for about 10 seconds.

Do the LEDs illuminate on the first screen and then remain blank on the second screen? If so, the control has successfully entered Diagnostic Mode, which will allow us to run a few tests.

Navigating Diagnostic Mode

  • The Freezer (FZ) display shows the test number.

  • Press Refrigerator Temp UP (+) to move to the next test.

  • Press Refrigerator Temp DOWN (-) to move to the previous test.

  • For tests that can be turned on or off, press the Cube button to activate or deactivate the test.

Compressor Test

  1. Press Refrigerator Temp UP (+) until the Freezer display shows 61.

  2. Press Cube until 03 appears. This sets the refrigerant routing valve to the fully open position.

  3. Press Refrigerator Temp DOWN (-) until the Freezer display shows 38.

  4. Press Cube to turn the compressor on.

Please let me know:

  • Does the compressor start running?

  • If it does, does frost begin forming on either the freezer evaporator or the fresh-food evaporator after a few minutes?

These results will help determine whether the issue is related to the control board or if there may be another underlying problem.
