After running ok for a week and a half, the dishwasher occasionally would not turn on. For a few times, my wife could get it to start by holding down start and on buttons for 3 seconds, then today that didn’t work. I had to turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, turn it on, then reset (power/start for 3 sec) and then I could pick a cycle and run it.
It sounds like there is something else going on. If you turn the power supply off and access the user panel, are there any indications of damage on the user control?
When I do the 5 minute power reset, then the button reset (on/start for 3 seconds), everything works as expected for a wash or a couple, then the button panel is dead again until another breaker power reset.
It’s possible that the power module is faulty. However, I would look for any wires that might be loose, kinked, or have bare spots. A vibration could cause an intermittent short if there is a bare spot in a wire or an arc to occur in a loose connection.
