Brand: Viking Model Number:VGSC305 Main Symptom: Oven doesn’t heat well What happens & when: Takes forever to ignite
Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: Purchased replacement ignitors AP4012072. Wire ends did not match up with my range (ignitor had wire harness, pigtail wires had one end with a push-in connector). Four small white wire nuts were supplied, so I cut the wires in question to connect with the wire nuts. However, wire nuts don’t tighten enough – the wires fail the “tug test” (pull on them slightly and they come out). Not only that, but the shortened wires are not just barely long enough… there’s no slack at all, and they touch some of the metal parts. All of this is concerning, and makes me question the safety of the replacement. Is it possible to get slightly smaller wire nuts?

I purchased the ignitor from this site, AppliancePartsPros. It’s the bake ignitor. I bought in January 2025. IIRC I searched for the appropriate part. When I clicked on the link you provided above and then enter my model number in the “Appliance Compatability Tool” I get the message “Please enter a valid model number”. So maybe that’s why I purchased a different part? Comparing the one I ordered to the one I replaced, I see they are slightly different in length. Guess I’ll order the part you linked to.
