Window AC Unit Thermostat

I was not careful in attempting to remove the unit from the window and it fell. Fortunately it was cushioned by a bush. In the fall, the thermostat knob brokd and the wire from the plug came loose. I was able to piece it back together without knob control function and it appeared to work fine. I am not sure what level the thermostat is set at an cannot control the setting due to the damage. I have two questions:

  1. a ground wire also came loose and I am not sure what it is to be connected to. Does the thermostat require a ground?
  2. can I get a replacement part?

Yes to both questions just supply model number.

There is no obvious ground connector on the thermostat. Any tips on how to connect the ground?

To either mounting screw and then to chasis of A/C
