Whirpool Sudden hard stop after spin cycle

Whirlpool Estate Washing Machine - Model ETW4400SQO - Very Hard jerk stop after spin cycle …

Tub filled with water but would not spin - humming sound.

I bypass lid switch.

I removed water pump - found small sock wrapped inside pump.

I started washing machine - motor runs fine & tub spins fine.

I removed electric motor - inspected motor coupling - motor coupling is in perfect condition … nothing broken, rubber is good and both plastic parts have 3 teeth on each.

Reinstall motor coupling, reinstall electric motor.

I installed new water pump.

Tub spins - but at end of spin cycle - very hard stop!

Jerks machine in violent motion.

Do I have a serious transmission or a clutch problem?

Do I have to buy a special spanner tool to remove any parts or pieces?

May be sticking brakes. Get some sil-glyde brake grease and place a small dab with small screwdriver or other suitable tool onto the inside vertical surface of the brake drum. Place it where the brakes are currently not in contact with drum such as where brake spring is or opposite side of spring. Get it up on vertical surface as far as possible so brakes pick it up when spin starts. Brakes are above clutch which is just above gearcase.
