Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: WGD8127LC0
Main Symptom: “Clean Vent!”
What happens & when: The “Clean Vent” alert comes on but the vent is completely clean. I completed dissasembled the housing to make sure.
Error Code (if any): in the past it was F3E1
Parts or tests already tried: In the past, the alert was coming up and we ignored it. One day the dryer wouldnt start or heat. Code F3E1. I started taking things apart when I noticed a mouse nest on the control board… I should’ve just bought a new dryer at that point but I looked at the control board and there was a spot that was fried so I replaced the control board. I also checked continuity on everything else and replaced the thermal fuse. Boom, now it’s running, but no heat… Everything else tested fine so I replaced the only part that is known to give false positives(gas valve coils) and bam, it’s running and heating again. The only thing is the “clean vent” code is still coming up. I did mouse proof the dryer the best I could and will be checking regularly. I just want to make sure there’s nothing else that could be causing the fuse to blow. The thermistor was dropping resistance as I heated it so seems normal.
