Whirlpool WTW5000DW3 does not agitate clothes

Brand: WHIRLPOOL
Model Number:WTW5000DW3
Main Symptom: Barely moves clothes
What happens & when: Just bought a house with this washer in it. The washer ‘runs’ , but it doesn’t really move or circulate the clothes. The tub moves back & forth about 2 inches but that’s it. I can let it run for 10 minutes, check back, and the same clothes are on top. Here’s a 1-minute video of it ‘running’. Surely (I hope) this isn’t right!

This is my first experience with an impeller washer. Any insights are appreciated!

After watching some videos I thought it was likely the actuator or the Sputch cam. I tilted the machine over, took off the guard, and the problem was obvious: the actuator arm/pin was not in the hole of the sputch cam. I put the pin in place and the machine now works as it should.

It’s unknown why the pin was out of place. Time will tell if it somehow jumps out again. But for now, I’m back in business.

Just a little heads up, that was actually a known issue with that shift actuator finger coming out of the cam loop due to a slight design change the manufacturer was trying. If that happens again go ahead and replace the shift actuator AP6037270.
