The error E5 indicates either the ice maker thermistor or the main control have failed. Usually, this is going to be an issue with the ice maker itself rather than the main control. However, this can be verified by placing a thermometer into the ice maker section and closing the door. From there, unplug the power cord and access the main control. At connection P7, test from the pink wire at pin 1 to the tan wire at pin 2. There should be a high resistance reading somewhere close to 23,000 Ohms. If the thermistor fails, replace the ice maker. If it measures close to what it should, the main control has failed.
