Parts or tests already tried: Replaced Evap Fan Motor about 10 days ago for same issue, and it came back. Shut it down and let the coils defrost for 3-4 hrs., plugged it back in and it ran well for about 5 days before it began to get warm again. I’ve dis-assembled the freezer compartment and the coils are frozen over hard with ice, retested the new fan motor, and I’ve got no continuity, but I don’t understand why it would have failed so quickly. The defrost heater still has continuity and 30.5 ohms of resistance. I tested the room temp state of the inline defrost thermometer and it’s open. I’ve got it in another freezer coming down to temp to check to see if it’s closed when at right temp. There is a thermistor that monitors the air temp mounted on the freezer wall, but the wiring disappears into the top of the freezer cabinet and I don’t see how to get at the ends of it. Is there a way to safely monitor a successful defrost cycle before I re-assemble the freezer compartment with my multimeter without frying anything or myself?

I agree it really sounds like a defrost issue. I would check the resistance on the elemnt too make sure it’s not failing. I have attached a copy of the tech sheet with some diagnostic guides
Thank you for your reply and the document! I’ve tested everything successful except for the thermistor attached to the inside of the freezer compartment. Its wiring disappears into the freezer ceiling behind the back panel and I can’t find any reference on how to remove it to get to the other end of it for removal/testing. Do you have a complete service manual for this model refrigerator or any other parts servicing?
UPDATED: I have replaced the evaporator motor with a 2nd genuine factory evaporator motor on the same day as your last response, and just 2 days ago the fridge got warm again while the freezer section stays fine. We moved all the dairy stuff to another fridge, and then the next day, the fridgerator section was cooling again. What could going on here? I’m afraid that the evap motor is starting to enter the same failure pattern as before. What could be causing it to fail? FYI, That tech sheet you keep sending dosent cover any disassembly notes. It’s mainly instructions for the mainboard computer defrost diagnostics and component specs for other major replaceable parts. What I think I need is something definitively telling me if this fridge has some sort of air duct dampner between the freezer section how to determine if it opens and closes correctly.
