Whirlpool wfe320m0js3 not heating sufficiently

Brand:Whirlpool
Model Number:wfe320m0js3
Main Symptom:not heating properly
What happens & when:oven will not heat above approximately 150 degrees on bake mode.

Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried:tested both heating elements, sensor probe and thermal fuse for continuity. tested sensor probe for resistance and got 1100 ohms. main control board was replaced in nov 2024.

Does the oven cavity light seem to stay on all the time and does it do the same thing in broil? Does the oven seem to reach a certain point and shut off or is it acting as though it is reaching temperature and completing preheat?

No the oven light does not stay on. We don’t use broil so I’m not sure if it would do the same thing. It does not shut off. It is acting as though it is reaching temperature but it is not. The readout on the control panel says 350 degrees but the actual temperature in the oven is closer to 150 degrees.

That is going to be either the temperature sensor or the main control board as long as the actual temperature in the oven is being tested correctly.

I’d check the resistance reading of the sensor when it says preheating is complete for 350°. You can do this from the board on the P3 connector, which has 2 purple wires and either a yellow jumper between 2 pins or 2 yellow wires. Go ahead and take the rear panel off to access the control board, set and start a bake cycle for 350, once it shows that it has reached temperature unplug the range. Disconnect the P3 connector from the board. Take a resistance reading on the harness from purple wire to purple wire.

At 300°-350° you should be reading roughly 1600Ω-1650Ω.

If that is correct and the temperature in the oven can be verified to be about 150° then you’ll need to replace the temperature sensor WPW10181986.

If the temperature sensor isn’t reading that, which it should be reading around 1350Ω at 150° instead, then the main control board W11594224 will need to be replaced again.

Thank you for your help. It looks like it is the main control board that is the problem.
