Whirlpool WEG730H0DS0 got wet - replace control board?

Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: WEG730H0DS0
Main Symptom: Oven does not work, burners do
What happens & when:

Hi, we have a cat who can turn on our burners so we have to pull off the knobs when we aren’t using them. I was pouring hot water from a pan and it spilled into one of the knob holes. The display started flashing and eventually went off completely.

The burners on the stove work fine, but the oven won’t turn on at all. A Google search turned up that I need replace the control board, but it also said there’s a part called the relay board. How do I know if I need to replace only the control board, or if I need to replace both? Thank you!

Hi,

Yours has a display control and relay board…mounted on top of each other.
Chances are the liquid got both at the same time :frowning:

Electronic Control Board and Electronic Control Board.

The first one is more exposed to that liquid, but I’d probably go with both as a safer repair…JMO!

Ugh, they couldn’t have put them far apart?! It figures. Thanks!

Hi. Did you try to unplug your range for at least 24 hrs? If that won’t help, I’d replace control board first and if that will not take care of the issue, replace the relay board too.
