My whirlpool top load won’t start all of a sudden . It makes 3 humming sounds from the bottom of washer when I press start, there are no other sounds no clicking , then it drains and then it says done on the board. I’ve already unplugged the washer. I’ve already went and done the diagnostics, which gave me F7E6 as the error code. It does not fill up with water. It doesn’t spin. However, when I Try to move the basket by hand, it moves freely. The behavior is exactly the same on any setting, whether it’s normal or delicate or just drain and spin.

When you get that humming sound does it seem like the tub or agitator is moving? If it does move, is it very slight/weak movement or strong?

Hi thank you for your reply. No, nothing is moving , not the tub nor the agitator Not even slightly.

That humming with little to no tub movement usually means the capacitor W11395618 for the motor has gone bad. It could be the motor W11026785 itself, but usually the symptoms you’re describing indicate it is the capacitor.
