My Whirlpool washer appears to be “dead”. It won’t fill with water, won’t spin etc; we have tested the outlet and circuit breakers and all seem fine so we have no idea what the problem is. We are not sure whether to spend the money on a service call to investigate as the machine was manufactured in November 2002. Any ideas? Please help! Thanks!
With the lid closed move the timer to the spin section in various cycles. If you get no spin, and no fill in any cycle try replacing the timer.
These are good machines and worth fixing, but the timer is a little expensive. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it, see the returns policy for details and conditions.
In our area a Roper brand, which is equivalent to your model is on sale for about $300.00 so I would use that as a benchmark for deciding whether or not to repair it. I would definitely replace it before having a service call as parts and labor are likely to cost near the replacement cost.
Hope this helps.
