Brand:Whirlpool Model Number:WTW8040DW3 Main Symptom:stops mid cycle What happens & when:First time got drn code. After resetting, that code never came back. But, now getting flashing blue power light and lid lock light. I checked all drain hoses and pump, seems to be ok, no blockage. After I reassembled i started an empty cycle. Started out ok but stopped with 14 mins remaining. After resetting and trying to restart, the flashing lights returned. Is this a faulty lid lock switch.

It is possible that there might be an issue with the lid lock, however, an error code would normally show up in the display. If you press temperature, soil level, spin speed, and repeat this two more times, all of the LEDs should illuminate and 888 should show in the display. If there is an error recognized by the main control, it should show up in the display after 5 seconds or so. Does an error code show up? If not, does one show up if you press the spin speed button once?
I tried pushing those buttons at the same time, 3 times. Lights don’t come on, maybe im doing something wrong. When I pushed the power button to turn power off, the machine hums and the blue power light blinks. The lid lock light did not flash this time. Also no code when pushing spin speed once. Another thing i noticed is that the cycle times are different. Usually 39min when running a quick cycle on casual setting. Now it is 48 min.
The buttons would not be pressed at the same time. Press one then release it and move to the next button, repeating this pattern two more times, and it should go into a diagnostic mode.
Plugged machine back into outlet. Tried it without hitting power button…NG. Pressed power button to turn machine on. Pressed temp, then soil level, then spin speed and repeated 2 more times. Machine did not go into drags.
