My whirlpool ultimate care II washer will fill but will not agitate thru cycle. I am wondering if it has to do with the lid switch and where it is. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes, the lid switch on that model affects all motor operation, agitate, drain and spin. Open control panel, lid switch is on the left. Sometimes the hinge screws come loose and won’t operate the switch. You can unplug the switch and jump out the two wires (gray and white) to see if washer will work.

It turns out that the door hinge was loose. I tightened and closed the lid and it started agitating. Thanks.

Are you referring on the left side in the rear of my whirlpool ultimate ll washer? Thank you
