My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II sounds like a jet is taking off when it enters the spin cycles. The tub is hitting the side of the washing machine and making the whole machine move. The springs look fine and it agitates fine and I have leveled it many times. Is it the drive block?
Help, Matt
Hi.
What is the complete model number of the unit?
Remove the agitator and check if the basket is loose.
Post the results.

Simon,

Im not sure if the basket is loose, I can move it up and down a little to were the clip is. I can spin it counter clockwise with no problem. If I try to spin it clockwise is gets hung up.
Thanks, Matt
Hi.
Remove the agitator and check if the drive block still has the grooves and it’s properly engaged with the spin tube.If the grooves are gone, the basket is sinking down and may cause any kind of noise.

Also, check the balance ring (#15). It’s normally filled with fluid, shake it and if you don’t here splashing the ring should be replaced.

Simon,
I replaced the drive block and the springs. The washer still walks around the room. Any suggestions? Replacing the drive block made the basket tighter and the springs seemed to help, with the noise problem. The balance ring has fluid in it. Im still not giving into buying a new washer, as my old lady keeps hinting to.
Thanks, Matt
Hi.
One more think to check is how the skate plate #17 oriented on the tub support #4.
