So, this washer starting acting up a few months ago, would sometimes stop in the middle of cycle or not fully drain. Replaced the drain pump, worked a little better for a bit, but then started acting up again. Then last week, fully stopped working, just had all led lights on and drain pump running. Even if you unplugged it and then back in, immediately all lights and pump running. Thought maybe lid lock, so installed new one, no change. Determined must be board and which I confirmed in that upon removed the board, I found a hole blown in the micro-controller and several blown smd resistors. Ordered replacement board from shopjimmy. Installed and I first thought all good as when I plugged it in, no lights or pump running. Went to do a recalibration, but wouldn’t start as the lid lock wouldn’t engage. You can hear the relay clicking, Lock LED flashing, but lock itself not engaging. Went into manual test mode, same thing, just the relay clicking, etc. Thought I got a bad board, exchanged for another. Same thing. I tried original lid lock, no change. I even tried unplugging everything from the board and just left the lid lock connected, still just clicks the relay and never engaged the lock. I am going to get my multi-meter tomorrow to do some further testing, but anyone have any other ideas on what is going on?

Did the new lid lock come with a new bezel and was the new bezel installed along with the new lid lock? If it was, I’d suspect either a bad strike WPW10240513, or the lid WPW10338625 or top WPW10251299 is warped/bowed slightly and not allowing the lock to engage.

It did come with new bezel and strike. I replaced the bezel, but not the strike. But even if I put the new strike into the slot by itself for testing, the lock never engages.

I’d replace the strike then. It’s possible to get a bad lid lock new out of the box, but very unlikely.

So after putting a meter on the lid lock, it comes back bad. I think whatever blew on the original board, caused a short on the lid lock circuit, frying the solenoid, and since I replaced the lid lock first, I killed it before trying the board. I took apart the original lock and the solenoid smelt burnt. Got a new lock coming tomorrow, fingers crossed.
