So the freezer is cooling but the fridge is not? Do you hear the fan running? Look at the back of the freezer is there a lot of ice on the rear cover inside the freezer?

Yes there was a lot of ice I unplugged the refrigerator and allowed it to defrost.

I would suspect that you have a defrost system issue. There are 4 possible failure points

  3. Refrigerator Electronic Control Board ( Whirlpool WPW10503278 Refrigerator Electronic Control Board | Genuine OEM Part)
  4. Clogged defrost drain not allowing defrost water to drain nd building up on evap coils
