So, I am cooking dinner on range up top, and decide to add some bread below, so I preheat the oven, the timer counts down, but starts disapearing and coming back… oven does not heat up…later I pulled the Oven out and notice the power cord barely in, so I plug it in, hoping that’s the issue, still no heat up, clock timer, top stove work fine, I don’t have any kitchen power out, so no fuse is out, is there something I can check on this oven without having to call out a repairman… could it be the heating elements (both do not warm)
or something else? any help would be appreciated!
I just noticed, the clock does not seem to keep time accurately anymore either
Sounds like the control board has gone bad.
- The part number for the control board is AP3085929

Yes, that seems to be the consensus,
I am picking the part up Friday and installing,
it seems easy enough, two screws holding in, and plugs into the board,
kinda like computer work, should be able to do it
Thanks for the response!

Gene,
it worked wonders, picked up the part, 150$ plus tax, put it in in 10 minutes, saved myself a 269$ repair visit (parts & labor) oven works now, I will let others know, Whirlpool changed the faceplate so the buttons are in different locations, but they work regardless
So, happy as can be, 10 minute repair job, and can cook again
Phil
Have similar problems with my Frigidaire ES400. Stove top works just fine, oven light is on but oven does not heat up. Took out the elements, got them checked at a local parts store, they are both OK. Now clock keys are not responding properly i.e. some number keys do not work. Any suggesions Please? I am in Brampton, Ontario.
Yeah man, sounds like the control panel might have gone out, listen to it, when you set the oven temp and hit start, for clicks, if you don’t hear clicks your control panel is out and needs to be replaced.

What is the complete model number of the range?
Gene.
Model number: CPLEF398CCB
Serial number: VF32516030
We showed the appliance to a mechanic and he diagnosed that the control panel was deffective and he ordered a new one and he replced it but the keyboard did not work. Before he replaced the part the keyboard was somewhat working, the left side keys were working and the right side keys were working on and off. Now nothing is working. I am wondering if the problem was with the keyboard all along and not with the control panel. The guy has not been back, it’s been two weeks. He took our old control panel and his new part is still there on the unit. Any suggestions. please!
Thanks
On most models similar to yours there are no separated keyboard or key panels. They have only overlays and all buttons are a part of the control BOARD (aka a clock/timer). Control panel is a front panel which is actually just a piece of metal.
Which part has been replaced?
