Whirlpool oven error f5

I have a Whirlpool Electric range/oven model WFE361LVS. Last night I attempted to start a self cleaning cycle. Since then the oven has been beeping constantly displaying an “f5” code. I can see the door latch moving back and forth through the front vent, and it only stops when the alarm is beeping. After I hit clear, it starts moving again, until the alarm sounds again. I have tried holding down another button to bring up the stuck button error to clear out the other, and that hasn’t worked. And holding down the clear for 5 seconds doesn’t clear it out either.

At this point, I don’t care about doing the self cleaning cycle. I just want the beeping to stop and to be able to use my oven for baking. I had no problems until I attempted the self clean.

Hi.

The F5 code points to the door latch failure. To check it you need the multimeter.
With the oven unplugged locate connector 3 at the control board and check as follows:
Con.3 - 1 to 3- 4 for the latch switch and Con.3 -3 to 3 - 4 for the door position switch
door open = open circuit
door closed = closed circuit.
If the switches are bad - replace the door latch or the door sensing switch.
If they checks OK - replace the control board.

Post the results.
