Error Code (if any): Three wavy lines on bottom right of the display.
Parts or tests already tried: Tried to access filter by removing screws as instructed , but the grill doesn’t budge.
Hello, I see two screws at the top that may be holding the grill in place. Try removing those toward the front of the grill, then slide it to the left and tilt forward.
Here is what I did. If you look above the control panel inside you will see 1 phillips screw loosen this screw to remove the control panel, you don’t need to remove the whole thing just move it enough to give you more room. Once I did that I removed the two grill screws mentioned above then slid the grille to the left and pulled it out. Good luck. Hope this helps you. Kind of a poor design by whirlpool but manufacturers must be a little POd by right to repair.
Thanks for your reply. I ended up getting a handyman who managed to wrestle it out. That is a very poor design considering that changing the filter is considered routine maintenance to be performed by the customer!
In the end, it turns out that the icon I am seeing is a humidity sensor error! At least the manufacturer gave me a grace period on the warranty to get it repaired.
