Hello, with a new inlet valve and a new icemaker, the only other thing to consider would be water pressure. High or low pressure can exceed the rating of the inlet valve and let too much water in. You can pick up a water pressure tester at a local hardware store and test it overnight.

I have installed a ball valve ahead of the inlet valve, would restricting or partly closing the water valve help? Thanks.
